Aged Care Information

• If you require any assistance regarding your home care package or care needs, you can contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422.
• If you have any concerns or need to make a complaint, you can do this by contacting the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission on 1800 951 822 or via their website https://www.agedcarequality.gov.au/contact-us/complaints-concerns/what-do-if-you-have-complaint

Canowindra Community Care provides culturally appropriate assistance to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community as well as those who have connections. If you are receiving this email you are entitled.

Aged Care Reforms

• The new Aged Care Act and Support at Home Program commenced on the 1^st November 2025.
• Clients are required and will be contacted to sign new service agreements by the end of November.
• If you have any further questions or have not been contacted, please contact the office to discuss.
• As part of the new system for the Support at Home Program, clients will also be asked to provide a photo for their profiles. Client photos will not be shared anywhere and are for staff visibility on profiles only.

CEDRIC HOUSE RESPITE COTTAGE

If you need some timeout, recuperating from an illness, discharged from hospital with no one at home to take care of you or your carer needs a break, then you may be eligible for a respite break.

Christmas Closure

• The office will be closed from 20 Dec 2025 – 04 Jan 2025.
• Client services will continue as usual.
• From all the staff at Canowindra Community Care, we are wishing you a safe and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
• Clients will still be able to contact the office via email on ablagecare@bigpond.com or mobile on 0414291259 for emergencies and any cancellations of services.

Safety Tips for Summer

• Keep tabs on weather – Check the forecast
• Stay inside by limiting your time outside
• Stay Hydrated
• Use sunscreen
• Use aircon and/or fans
• Check medications for side effects
• Know and watch for signs of heat stroke/heat exhaustion
